Stop napping... Christine calls on soccer boss Frank to change more diapers!

-

CHRISTINE Lampard made an emotional return to Loose Women yesterday where she filled her co-stars in on her life as a new mum. The TV star and Derby County manager husband Frank welcomed their first child, daughter Patricia in September, and this week marked Christine’s first appearance on Loose Women since the birth.

She got emotional as she spoke about the birth of her little girl while also revealing that her husband Frank needs to change more nappies.

Christine, pictured, described the days as a as a ‘beautiful fog’ before telling her colleagues she was a ‘complete emotional mess’ at the birth.

‘I was fine until the doctor said “Christine you’re about to become a mummy”,’ she said with tears in her eyes. ‘That gets me every time,’ she said with emotion in her voice as her co-star and fellow mum Stacey Solomon leaned over to hug her.

She also revealed the challenges of motherhood, explaining that ‘the first day I got caught out on breastfeeding in public. I wasn’t sure what I was doing.’

Christine went on to admit that she’s been missing the support of her parents day-to-day as they are back home in Northern Ireland.

‘I’ve missed home terribly. I’m not brave enough to take my baby on the plane to Northern Ireland yet. My parents have come here all the time though,’ she said.

‘You want your parents to be very much part of it. She’s the first grandchild.’

Christine paid tribute to Frank’s late mother Patricia, her daughter’s namesake, telling the ITV show: ‘Frank was incredibly close to his mum. It’s one of his biggest sadnesses we never met because she passed away the year before we met.’

Christine, 40, explained that she has a photograph of Frank’s mother in her baby’s nursery and said: ‘When I’m feeding her I’ll say, “That’s your granny that’s who you are named for”.’

The doting mother also revealed that while Frank possesses parenting skills thanks to already being a dad to daughters Luna, 13, and Isla, 11, following a previous relationship with model Elen Rivas, he could still do more.

‘He’s done less nappies than me! We’re toing and froing the whole time. When he is doing the nappies he’s very good but he’s not doing them as much as I’d like,’ she said.

There’s been plenty of celebrations for the star in recent weeks, as she turned 40 on Saturday, revealing her parents and friends flew over to surprise her.
