MAGIC MEN GENERATIONS APART MADE MY IGT WEEK

-

IRELAND’S Got Talent looks set to continue bringing the drama this week, if the line-up is anything to go by. I don’t know about you, but I’ve just about recovered from last week’s Sea of Change, an all-female choir made up of cancer survivors and supporters which brought the judges to tears with their emotional performance. Denise Van Outen even chose them as her Golden Buzzer act.

On the show this week is parkour act One Island Clan. Parkour, in case you didn’t know (I didn’t), is ‘free-running’ and consists of running, vaulting and jumping using just your surroundings. It’s definitely not for the fainthearted. Self-taught and performing since they were nine, these guys are hoping to deliver a spine-tingling performance.

Also on the show is Julie McCabe, 30, who lives in Kildare with her husband Glen and their two-year-old son Max. A full-time mum with a passion for singing, she has already racked up thousands of views on her social media. Following a diagnosis of autism for Max she stepped away from singing, but now she’s is hoping the judges will believe in her.

But the two greatest acts are two magicians from both ends of the age spectrum. Patrick Ward, 83, aka The Great Padini, is from Sixmilebridge, Co. Clare and has been performing magic for the past 75 years. Also bringing a touch of magic is nine-year-old Aidan McCann from Maynooth, Co. Kildare. Aidan, who you may recognise from a recent poignant Vodafone ad, has been performing the mystical art for four years. But who will they get the next Golden Buzzer? You’ll have to watch and see...

IRELAND’S Got Talent returns this Saturday at 7.30pm, Virgin Media One
