Snap out of it, Richard!

‘THIS is now getting beyond “pinch yourself”,’ the actor Richard E Grant, pictured, tweeted as he posted selfies with film icons including Shirley MacLaine, Glenn Close and Jane Seymour this week, ‘more like “punch yourself”.’ It’s sweet to see an Oscar nominee acting like a starstruck fan, I guess, but I can’t help wondering: what’s the point? The whole purpose of taking a selfie with a celeb is to prove to your friends that you met them. At this stage of his career, does Richard really need to convince his pals he’s a film star? What, I wonder, do they think he does for a living?
