Healy on demon mission

- RORY KEANE

THE Ireland squad have spent the last week licking their wounds and Cian Healy insists they are ready to unleash some pent-up fury on Scotland this afternoon. ‘Nobody wants demons hanging around for a long time like that,’ he admitted. ‘The best change is to get out the following week and exorcise that and put right what we got wrong, nail off the final details and put in a very good performance.’ Joe Schmidt admitted to a few sleepless nights after that 32-20 humbling by England. ‘You never get past that,’ Healy continued. ‘You’re representing a lot of people when you play for Ireland and that hurts. I’d struggle to sleep after a game, win or lose, so I suppose it’s just the thoughts that go through your head a little bit worse when you’re staring at the ceiling.’ Scotland will not bring the same level of physicality as England, their threats lay elsewhere. ‘The last couple of years they’ve started coming out with trick plays and they’re not just trick plays, they’re catching people,’ Healy (left) explained. ‘It’s not just a trick play for the sake of it, they’re catching people and scoring. ‘They’re demanding creative thinking. It’s a nice way to play rugby and it’s just about us putting pressure on that and trying to shut off their ability to think like that.’
