SLAPSTICK DUO Danny & Mick, 4.10pm, CBBC

VERY silly new comedy in the vein of Chuckle-Vision, in which brothers Danny and Mick make a right old mess of whatever project they work on. The two toil at a leisure centre and are played by real-life halfbrothers and panto veterans Danny Adams and Mick Potts (pictured).

MAGIC ACADEMY The Worst Witch, 5pm, CBBC

CBBC’S adaptation of Jill Murphy’s books is that rare delight – something the whole family can enjoy. It delivers another cracking episode here as Sybil witnesses an alarming prophecy when a strange game takes over the school. Can Mildred & Co. save the day?

PREMIER LEAGUE Wolverhampton Wanderers v Newcastle United, 7pm, Sky Premier League & Main Event

WOLVES might have had to come back from 2-1 down to see off lowly Shrewsbury in their FA Cup replay last week, but that means they’ve won four in a row at Molineux, and it could be a tricky visit to the West Midlands for the Magpies.

FILM THRILLER The Negotiator, 8pm, Sky Premiere

JON HAMM (right) stars as the former diplomat returning to Beirut to negotiate with kidnappers. Classy thriller set in 1982, full of intrigue and sharp dialogue. Rosamund Pike co-stars.

ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE The Walking Dead, 9pm, Fox

ANDREW LINCOLN’S departure to star in a string of Rick spin-off movies has left a hole in this show. As it returns for the first of a new run, that’s filled by two compelling elements: the developing threat of the Whisperers is one, and a new twist for Negan is the other.

CRIME DRAMAS Criminal Minds/Blindspot, 9pm/10pm, Sky Witness

SKY’S reliable US dramas both return for new runs tonight. The penultimate season of the grisly Criminal Minds resumes with Prentiss on a date – but not for long, thanks to Rossi. Thriller Blindspot picks up the action by taking us inside the sedated mind of tattooed amnesiac Jane (Jaimie Alexander, pictured right).

WAYS OF LIFE A Very British History: Romany Gypsies, 9pm, BBC4

IN the first of a new series of histories of Britain’s minority communities, the writer Damian Le Bas explores the story of Romany gypsies in the UK. It’s a tangled one, even down to the language. Le Bas says he avoids saying ‘Romany’ in ‘certain contexts’ because ‘it’s easily confused with Romanian’.

ROMCOM MOVIE Leap Year, 9pm, 5Star

YOU’LL know where this is going early on when lovable Amy Adams’s keen-to-get-hitched American meets up with Matthew Goode’s Irish charmer. She wants to reach her boyfriend in Dublin to propose to him on February 29, but events conspire to keep her with her dishy Irish host. Be warned... it’s heavy on the paddywhackery.

FEARLESS REPORTER Under The Wire – Storyville, 10pm, BBC4

RIVETING new profile of renowned war correspondent Marie Colvin, told largely by her photographer, Paul Conroy, and based on his book. The bulk of it centres on their coverage of the Syrian civil war, which went far beyond daring and eventually claimed Colvin’s life, leaving Conroy to escape alone.
