Winners will join richest in the land...

-

IF the winners of the gargantuan €175million Euromillions jackpot are to pool their resources, they would end among the top 100 in Ireland’s rich list.

The largest single lottery win in Irish history would catapult the winner ahead of business leaders, entrepreneurs, entertainers and property developers to land a spot at No.94.

According to the Irish Independent’s Rich List for 2019, the €175million win would place the winner just below retailer Michael Chadwick, currently worth €178million, and just ahead of art collector and property investor Joe Donnelly, who is worth €173million. The jackpot would also bring the winner above some very notable names. Mixed martial arts fighter Conor McGregor currently occupies the 109th place on the rich list, with an estimated net worth of €150million. Singer-songwriter Enya currently sits at 116, with an estimated net worth of €135million, and coming in at 118 is Irish actor Liam Neeson, who’s worth €133 million.

However, the jackpot still a long way off the number one spot on the rich list, currently occupied by the Mistry Family. Construction tycoon Pallonji Mistry is worth about €17.7billion.

The previous record holders scooped a €130million jackpot, but only held the title for just over a month.

Frances and Patrick Connolly from Moira on the Armagh-Down border won the prize after buying a Quick Pick ticket on January 1. It would have landed them at 123 on this year’s rich list.
