Clelia waltzes out of DWTS

FORMER Fair City actress Clelia Murphy crashed out of Dancing With The Stars last night in a Eurovision-themed quarter final.

The show opened with a spirited rendition of Eurovision-winning song Hold Me Now, performed by Mr Eurovision himself, Johnny Logan.

However, sadly Clelia was not on song on the night and ended up in the bottom two with likeable rogue Fred Cooke.

Her waltz to Dana’s winning son All Kinds Of Everything wasn’t enough as Fred and his partner Giulia Dotta won over the judges with a samba to Micky Joe Harte’s number We’ve Got The World Tonight.

Giulia broke down in tears after they were told they made it through to next week’s semifinal. Clelia, meanwhile, took elimination well, telling people that if they ever get a chance to be on the show, they should do it. ‘These are friends for life,’ she said of her fellow dancers.

Also making it through to the semi-final last night was presenter Mairéad Ronan, country singer Cliona Hagan and actor Johnny Ward.

It was a tough test for former Love/Hate star Johnny who laid his father to rest only on Tuesday but he overcame that grief to top the scoreboard, after dancing to Conchita Wurst’s song Rise like A Phoenix.

His performance was hailed ‘a production of art’ by Loraine Barry and the judges awarded it a perfect score of 30 points.
