Jamie and Louise were match of the day... so split hurts Harry!

-

HE recently said his son Jamie Redknapp’s divorce was ‘a huge blow’ for the whole family – and now I’m A Celebrity star Harry Redknapp admits the soccer pundit’s split from his wife Louise left him very sad, because he and his wife Sandra ‘absolutely love her.’

Speaking on Heart radio, the 72-year-old soccer legend said Jamie goes to his mum for romantic advice, while he stays out of it.

Harry, pictured with Jamie, said: ‘I love Lou and I was sad when it all went wrong. I really was. I mean me and Sandra absolutely loved her and her mum [Lynne] is still great – she knows Sandra talks to her mum all the time – she’s lovely.

‘So yeah it was sad, but that’s life isn’t it? What can you do? These things happen don’t they?’

Jamie, 45, and Louise, 44 – who have two sons together, Charlie, 14, and Beau, ten – ended their 19-year marriage in 2017.

Since then, former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry has stayed out of Jamie’s love life, insisting that his son and Sandra keep him out of the conversation.

Quizzed by presenters Jamie Theakston and Lucy Horobin about how Jamie was adapting to single life, Harry said: ‘I don’t know. I’ll leave it to his mum. She asks him them questions I don’t get involved.’

And when asked about whether he gives out relationship advice, Harry added: ‘I sort of try to avoid it. I just let him get on with it. What can I do now, you know?

‘I know he talks to his mum about things. I say, “What is he up to, anything?” [But] she won’t tell me.’

Nevertheless, Harry still keeps in contact with Jamie’s ex Louise and plans to go and see her in the West End production 9 To 5: The Musical.

Speaking last December, Harry revealed the impact that Jamie’s marriage split had on the wider family.

He told The Sun: ‘It was very difficult for us, it was a choker. We love Louise as well, it was a big blow to all of us.’

Harry added: ‘It’s all amicable, absolutely.’
