Posh bags €2.5m for keeping mouth shut

-

HER fashion empire might be struggling, but nobody can say Victoria Beckham doesn’t have a head for business. Even though she’s not joining her former Spice Girls bandmates on this summer’s tour, Posh’s rights to the group’s name and identity will earn her a small fortune in royalties from the gigs. She’ll net around €2.5million for NOT singing with the group, in other words, which sounds like a fair trade-off to me. And especially given all the bad blood within the remaining four women after that public spat between Geri and Mel B over their supposed ‘affair’, which is bound to lead to frosty relations backstage, Posh has definitely got the best of the deal. PROOF that sport can still represent the best of the human spirit came this week as Seán Cox, the Liverpool supporter left with horrific brain injuries after an unprovoked assault at Anfield last year, bravely filmed a ‘thank you’ to the fans attending his fundraiser at the Aviva Stadium. Once again, it’s the ordinary supporters, and not the preening top brass, who are the heroes of the hour. ‘THE Brexorcist’ was one of the more predictable takes on the latest twist in the painful saga this week, after the UK’s leave date was kicked back to Halloween next. Theresa May looked chilled enough by the reprieve to share a giggle with Angela Merkel, as they huddled over Mrs May’s iPad like besties at a bus stop. Some said they were tickled by a jokey comment about them both wearing the same colour jackets, but my money’s on a cat video. You know, one of those funny clips where someone opens the door for their cat, when he’s been crying to get out, and he just won’t leave…?
