Babymoon fit for a duchess

-

PRINCE Harry and Meghan Markle recently enjoyed a babymoon at a luxurious countryside hotel as they await the arrival of their little bundle of joy, sparking a rush of similar packages being offered.

Nowadays many couples decide to take a short holiday together before the birth of their baby in order to enjoy some quiet time away together before the big day

Not to be left behind, the fivestar Lough Erne Resort has launched its first-ever babymoon package — and it really has thought of all the little details.

Complete with as many extra pillows as are required to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep to a ‘cravings’ room service menu specially created by executive chef Noel McMeel, this package focuses utterly on the mother-to-be.

The cravings menu is inspired by six taste categories with a choice of two — so whether it’s sweet, salty or spicy flavours that are required — or just comfort food — there should be an option to satisfy:

Spicy: sweet chili and sticky tender pork ribs

Sweet: chocolate fondue with strawberries and yellow man (honeycomb ice cream)

Salty: fat gherkins with Irish sea salt

Comfort: peanut butter and jelly toasted baguette

Cool: Glastry ice cream, brandy snap basket and fruit coulis

Sweet and sour: rocket salad with mango peanuts and sweet and sour dressing.

To make the stay even more special, the package includes a soothing 60-minute maternity spa treatment for mums-to-be in The Thai Spa, designed to help alleviate the bodily stresses of pregnancy.

Dads are not forgotten either and can choose either an invigorating 60-minute spa treatment or a round of golf on the Faldo course — it might be the last one they get for a while!

All overnight stays include an indulgent breakfast in the Catalina Restaurant and access to the infinity pool at The Thai Spa.

Prices start from €175 per person sharing, for more information visit lougherneresort.com.
