The great chemistry returns in this movie

TODAY is the day that millions of Breaking Bad fans have been waiting for — Jesse Pinkman will be returning to our screens today.

El Camino: A Breaking Bad movie will appear on Netflix today with very little fanfare, keeping the public guessing as to what is actually going to happen.

Aaron Paul returns as Jesse Pinkman of course, but so far the only other characters that are confirmed to return are Skinny Pete, played by Charles Baker and his partner-incrime Badger, played by Matt L. Jones.

We are told ten main characters will be in the mix when the movie finally starts rolling on the streaming service. But as yet, no-one knows if Walter White will be making some kind of a comeback, despite the final scenes of the TV series.

Although he appeared on the red carpet at the film’s premiere, actor Bryan Cranston has refused to say whether Walter will be involved in Jesse’s latest adventure.

The new series was written and directed by Vince Gilligan, the original creator of Breaking Bad and spin-off Better Call Saul.

But Aaron Paul for his part is glad to be reprising Jesse.

‘I thought I’d said goodbye to this guy so long ago,’ he said at the film’s Los Angeles premiere.

‘I thought I’d said goodbye to so many of those crew members, at least as a business relationship.

‘It was so nice to revisit with them and reconnect with them and also zip on this skin once again. I’ve missed this guy. It was nice to be with him again.’

The secrecy surrounding the film has only added to the hype. The movie was also shot in secret under a different title and Paul said he had no problem keeping what he was up to under wraps, telling only his wife, his parents and a few close friends.

‘It was so easy for me,’ he said. ‘I love surprising people, I love lying to people. People ask me what I’m doing, I’m like “I’m just doing this small little passion project”.’

Since we last saw Jesse disappearing into the distance in an El Camino, things have got worse.

‘I had come up with my own theories of what went down when we were shooting that show,’ Paul said. ‘But it was apparent with the scars all over his face, the scars on his body, things that he’s gone through on screen that we’re all very much aware of. There was a lot of torture involved and so he’s an even more damaged version of what we once knew him as.’
