STAY AT HOME!

Jose’s blast at bosses fearful of Prem return

- By MATT BARLOW

JOSE Mourinho has told Premier League managers to ‘stay at home and watch the Bundesliga’ if they are reluctant to return to action.

Mourinho is itching to complete the season at Tottenham and made the quip towards the end of a League Managers Association video conference.

Fixtures in Germany will restart behind closed doors tomorrow, but plans for top-flight clubs in England to return to group training next week are expected to be delayed.

That in turn could push back the restart date to Friday June 19 from June 12.

Some Premier League managers are more reticent than others but Mourinho is raring to go. The Spurs boss said: ‘I want to train, and I am desperate for the Premier League to return as soon as it is safe to do so, particularly now we are seeing other leagues return to action.’

Spurs have reopened their training ground and Mourinho added: ‘I am extremely proud of the way my players have maintained fitness. They

have shown great professionalism, passion and dedication. ‘We have all been working extremely hard through remote squad training sessions and isolated running now the pitches are available to use at the training centre. ‘Every player has been extremely committed in their individual work and now we wait for clearance to commence working in small groups again, which I will fully support.’ Meanwhile, Tottenham’s Dele Alli reported for training yesterday just hours after he had been punched in the face and threatened with a knife during an armed robbery of his house in the early hours of Wednesday. Spurs have offered their support to Alli and the people isolating with him, including adoptive brother Harry Hickford and girlfriend Ruby Mae Barnacle. Harry Kane will sponsor Leyton Orient’s shirts for around £100,000 next season, with three causes supported on each of his former club’s jerseys.
