In the first episode tonight, we find Marianne (Daisy Edgar-Jones) away on an exchange programme in Sweden where she finds herself in another unhealthy relationship, with a chap called Lukas. The chain-wearing Connell (Paul Mescall), back in Ireland, worries for Marianne and in the second episode he suffers depression, after a friend’s suicide.
