Toyota gears up to offer decent incentives
THE runner-up in my Car Of The Year awards last December was the Toyota Camry hybrid, an assured and luxurious resurrection of the much-loved nameplate, with solidly handsome looks too. It was a key element of a Toyota resurgence in 2019, alongside the equally lovely Corolla, another very desirable car and Ireland’s best seller in the year to date.
If you’re looking to buy, the company has announced some decent incentives for 202 registrations in July. These include a finance contribution of up to
€3,000, with 3.9% APR with Flex PCP Finance, allowing for lower monthly payments. For nonfinance customers, there’s a trade-in booster of up to €3,000 and, for all customers, three years’ free servicing. The offers are available across the entire range. All dealerships are now open again, and observing strict hygiene measures, including sanitisation stations, protective screens, PPE and 2m social distancing markers. Toyota is also offering a virtual showroom experience on its website, with immersive educational videos and live video chat with Toyota sales executives, as well as trade-in valuations and an online financing and approval tool. Toyota still lacks a fully electric vehicle in its offering, but for many, hybrid is a decent halfway house that will see them through the ten years before the expected ban on sales of traditional petrol and diesel internal combustion engines.
