MUSIC SISTERIX
BROUGHT up on traditional music, talented sisters Ornait and Síomha Hennessy have transferred their skills into their own songwriting and have created some pop rock that’s got meaning and message. The Family is their new single and deals with an uncomfortable aspect of Irish life, the fact that the nuclear family unit still remains a place where some women and children are left suffering.

ART SAVING VELAZQUEZ’S PORTRAIT OF PHILIP IV

New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art’s chief conservator of paintings, Michael Gallagher points out the minute details in Velázquez’s portrait of Philip IV (above) which reveal the love of this dazzling Spanish artist for paint itself.
