TERRY INTERESTED IN TAKING TOP JOB AT BRISTOL CITY

- EXCLUSIVE By DOMINIC KING

JOHN TERRY is the latest high-profile candidate to express interest in the vacant Bristol City managerial post.

While ex-Ireland international Chris Hughton remains the favourite for the role, Terry is attracted to the potential of Bristol City, who parted company with Lee Johnson last week. The former England captain, currently assistant to Dean Smith at Aston Villa, is not alone in being excited about the idea of moving to Ashton Gate and Phil Neville, who will leave his post as England’s women manager as soon as the FA find a replacement, is also eager to be considered after initial contact with the Championship club.

Mark Ashton, City’s chief executive, said earlier this week that he had been ‘inundated with interest’ and Sportsmail understands another candidate is Lee Bowyer, who has excelled in his role in the dugout with Charlton Athletic with Plymouth Argyle’s Ryan Lowe also in the frame.
