Vogue hits back at formula critic

- By Louise Burne

VOGUE Williams has hit back at a commentator who criticised the contents of her hospital bag as she prepares to welcome her second baby.

The 34-year-old model and DJ will welcome her second child with husband Spencer Matthews, 31, any day now.

The Dublin presenter, who is already a mother to baby Theodore, said that she expected her little girl to arrive into the world last weekend.

Taking to Instagram, she showed her followers the little outfits she is bringing to the hospital. She also showed off the various blankets, muslin cloths and nappies she has packed for the newborn.

In the corner of her bag, Vogue also had packed a box of newborn baby formula.

Unhappy with her showing of the formula milk, an Instagram follower replied to Vogue – telling her off for ‘advertising’ the product. It is against advertising rules in both the UK and Ireland to advertise baby formula for newborns. However, Vogue was quick to point out that she was not ‘advertising’ the product.

The commenter said: ‘You are going to get roasted by the pro-breastfeeding lobby. They don’t get much milk because they don’t need much milk.

‘Plus you’re not allowed to advertise newborn milk. You’re playing on a new mum’s insecurity. Bad bad bad.’

Vogue said she is planning to breastfeed her new daughter – and delivered her response tom the critic as she reposted the message to her Instagram Stories.

She wrote: ‘I mean my baby isn’t even born yet and already this kind of crap.

‘Breastfed, bottle-fed everyone makes their own choice and that choice is the right choice for you and your baby.

‘I plan on breastfeeding but it may not always be possible. A fed baby is a happy baby. I’m also not advertising any milk – otherwise it would clearly state ad.’

Last week Vogue shared several snaps of her firstborn Theodore and gushed that he will be the ‘best big brother ever’.
