Leesiders’ woes go on as Wright strikes fast

- By FRANK KENT

BOHEMIANS got the win they wanted on their restart to the Premier Division as they saw off the challenge of Cork City at Turner’s Cross yesterday.

Andre Wright scored the only goal of the game after just four minutes as Bohs closed the gap on Dundalk to four points.

City keeper Mark McNulty was able to save it but could only see the ball fall into the path of Wright, who put it away with ease.

Cork regrouped and Deshane Dalling threatened to grab an equaliser in the 11th minute but Bohs stopper Stephen McGuinness was equal to the shot.

Bohs should have made stretched their lead before the first water break.

Dan Casey jumped to meet a corner but he his header was off target.

City were more lively after the break, Cian Murphy almost scoring after blocking down McGuinness’ clearance only to see the ball drop over the net.

Murphy put a header over with 18 minutes remaining as City looked to up the tempo in search of a leveller. Dalling and substitute Cory Galvin went close but Bohs held their nerve to take the points.
