20 years on, how life’s still a beach for shirtless Leo, 45
JUST like the rest of us, Hollywood heartthrobs aren’t immune to the inevitable passage of time.
In his 1990s heyday, Leonardo DiCaprio left women swooning – but he looked rather different when he visited a beach in Malibu, California, on Monday.
The Oscar-winning actor, who now has a fuller figure, was enjoying the sunshine with his girlfriend Camila Morrone, 23.
DiCaprio, one of Hollywood’s more private stars, was pictured shirtless as he splashed in the water. The 45 year old was wearing blue shorts with a baseball cap and sunglasses.
The actor, who starred in Danny Boyle’s movie The Beach 20 years ago, was clearly enjoying California’s heatwave.
But at one point, DiCaprio – best known for playing Jack Dawson in Titanic – submerged himself into the water to get a break from the sizzling heat.
Meanwhile, Ms Morrone, an actress from Argentina, was seen walking across the sand in a little black dress and a straw sun hat. The couple were first romantically linked in 2017.
Their 22-year age gap has come under criticism but Ms Morrone said it does not bother her. She told the Los Angeles Times in December: ‘There’s so many relationships in Hollywood – and in the history of the world – where people have large age gaps. I think anyone should be able to date who they want.’
But Ms Morrone, who starred in 2018 film Death Wish, said she understood the interest in their relationship, adding: ‘I probably would be curious about it too.’ DiCaprio is known for dating younger women, including supermodel Gisele Bundchen, who he was with for five years, and Israeli model Bar Refaeli – who he dated on and off from 2005 to 2011.
