THE Absolutely Fabulous star pursues her dream to see the aurora borealis in a bewitching documentar­y that was originally shown on BBC1. Lumley heads into the Arctic Circle, and nothing can prepare her for the wonder of what she witnesses.

SITCOM STORY Red Dwarf: The First Three Million Years, 9pm, Dave

IN THE final part, the cast of the series reflect on the scientific roots of some of the space comedy’s more thought-provoking episodes, and the ill-fated US version of Red Dwarf. Robert Llewellyn, as Kryten, was the only cast member to carry over to a show that – fatally – cast a hunk to play the slobby Lister.

FUNNY GAMES A League Of Their Own, 9pm, Sky One

ROMESH RANGANATHA­N (pictured) is in charge for the first of this new series of the sports-based panel game, the hosting duties for which will fall mostly to him, with single turns in the chair for Jamie Redknapp and Freddie Flintoff. In episode one, they are joined by Andy Murray, Jimmy Carr, Helen Skelton and Rob Beckett.

OUT IN THE COLD Arctic Alone, 10pm, Sky History

SMALL things become very important in this series, in which contenders attempt to last 100 days alone in the Arctic. Nearly a quarter of the way through, Joel is pouring his efforts into making a chair, while Kielyn (pictured) is pleased to have washed her underwear and given herself an ‘Arctic bob’.

THERE’S some top interview footage in this reflection on the actress’s career. On BBC2’s Acting In The 60s, she talks drily about the start of her first roles, a cigarette constantly on the go. In 1970, she talks with fabulous reserve about winning an Oscar: ‘It is a bit suspicious when things go well.’
