NEW RULES PUBS MUST FOLLOW FOR REOPENING

Straws must be individual­ly wrapped. Kettles must be disinfecte­d after each use. Pubs should consider clock-in machines to monitor staff in case of a Covid outbreak.

Hand sanitiser must be provided at all entrances and exits.

All employees must wash their hands for a minimum of 20 seconds, or use hand sanitiser if hands are visibly clean. If hands are visibly dirty, they must be washed.

The name and telephone number of one person from a group of customers must be taken and kept for 28 days for contact tracing.

Strict queuing system for toilets and a limit on the number of users must be enforced to ensure physical distancing.

Separation of two metres between tables but this can be reduced to one metre if additional steps are taken.

No more than six people can be located at any one table and they must not come from more than three different households. This applies to pre-bookings and walk-ins. Table service only and no counter service allowed.

Must separate bars from nightclubs with no customers allowed on the premises after 11.30pm. Face coverings must be worn by all employees in customer facing roles, unless there is a protective screen in place.

Strict guidelines must be in place for the preparatio­n of fruit garnishes used in drinks. All pubs are being asked to develop an ‘action plan’ for reopening. Use of cash is discourage­d, with customers asked to use card/ contactles­s payments where possible.
