Star, 31, buys her first home... and with one bedroom, Downton it ain’t!
AS Lady Rose in Downton Abbey she was accustomed to vast historic houses.
Now Lily James has bought her first home of her own at 31 – but though costing over €3million, it’s a relatively modest one-bedroom house.
Her American rock star boyfriend Michael Shuman has been spotted in the area and at a local coffee shop. The Queens Of The Stone Age bassist is believed to have been visiting the star at her new home.
Ms James’s purchase comes after the sizeable pay days she has enjoyed since finding fame in Downton, including roles in the box office smash hit Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again and Cinderella.
UK Land Registry documents show the actress, who grew up in Esher, Surrey, purchased the Grade II-listed house in north London without a lender in November.
A month earlier she had been spotted in Rome in a compromising embrace with married actor Dominic West, her co-star in a forthcoming TV adaptation of Nancy Mitford’s The Pursuit Of Love.
In recent weeks she has been filming What’s Love Got To Do With It?, which also stars Emma Thompson, in Suffolk – where she was first pictured with Shuman, 35.
The rocker kissed her as she got into a car outside a boutique hotel last month before waving her off.
Ms James and Shuman have yet to publicly confirm they are dating.
The actress is no stranger to north London having lived there with Doctor Who and The Crown star Matt Smith.
The pair called time on their fiveyear romance at the end of 2019, although they were rumoured to have been attempting a reconciliation during the first British lockdown.
Ms James’s next project will be portraying Baywatch star Pamela Anderson in the upcoming Hulu series Pam And Tommy, about the whirlwind romance between the former Playboy model and American rock star Tommy Lee.
