Get the barbie out, the weekend is set to sizzle

- By Ronan Smyth news@dailymail.ie

UMBRELLAS may have been out around the country over the weekend but the good news is that the unsettled weather is forecast to clear by the weekend, leading to temperatures of up to 19C over the coming days.

How long it will last is another matter as Met Éireann says next week looks ‘changeable’. It says that this morning will be cloudy with some scattered patches of light rain but it will become brighter as the day progresses.

Speaking to the Irish Daily Mail, a Met Éireann forecaster said: ‘Generally, temperatures will be in the mid to high teens most days from today onwards. There will be a lot of dry weather. There will be the odd patch of drizzle here and there but it will be very limited.’

The day will be warm, with highest temperatures between 14C and 18C.

‘We are going to see some rain overnight tonight into Friday morning,’ the forecaster said. ‘There will be a band of rain moving down across the country, so that will bring some rain to most areas by Friday morning. That should clear late afternoon Friday and after that Friday evening should be a pleasant evening and into Saturday pressure building,’ she said. Temperatures on Friday are expected to be between 14C and 17C.

Saturday is set to be the nicest day for the rest of the week. ‘Looking at temperatures for Saturday, mid to high teens, light variable winds. It looks like Saturday being the best of the two days over the weekend,’ the forecaster said.

Temperatures on Saturday are expected to be as high as 18C and while Sunday could go as high as 19C, the conditions that day are still a bit uncertain. The forecaster added: ‘It is a bit uncertain for Sunday, at the moment it looks like the east is faring the best on Sunday but it could be a bit cloudier further west. That could change.’

‘At the moment it does look changeable for next week but it does look like the early days will be staying mild.

Temperatures will be mild enough for the time of the year but it looks more changeable next week.’

‘Saturday looks like the best of the weather’
