LYNDON DYKES 5 Deserved a start after his double against Ukraine but this was a frustratin­g night for the QPR striker.

MATT DOHERTY 4.5 Ex-Hibs defender was poor. Got away with a sneaky stamp on Taylor and outfoxed by Christie.

JASON KNIGHT 6.5 Ran and pressed hard but the longer the game went on the more his influence waned.

JOSH CULLEN 7 Got the better of McGinn in the first half. Booked and very lucky to escape a quick second caution.

JAYSON MOLUMBY 7 Ran his socks off in midfield and does not shy away from the physical side of the game.

JAMES McCLEAN 7 The veteran put in some excellent crosses and his corner was turned home by Egan for the opener.

TROY PARROTT 6 An off night. Had a ‘goal’ rightly flagged offside in the first half and missed another terrific chance.

MICHAEL OBAFEMI 6.5 Pacy frontman was Ireland’s most dangerous attacker before making way for Ogbene.
