Eat my shorts, Bar

AS his celebrity wings extend ever further than his north inner-city roots, Barry Keoghan is now said to be dating singer Sabrina Carpenter, who as well as having her own Wikipedia page is also the niece of Nancy Cartwright, voice of Bart Simpson. Which makes the revelation that the Dubliner actor’s stylist team ironed his Louis Vuitton underwear ahead of the Golden Globes even more impressive: presumably Keoghan’s new in-laws would have just eaten them.

I’M impressed to learn that an iPhone sucked out through the gaping hole in the side of the Alaska Airlines jet that miraculously survived a blow-out at 16,000 feet, survived the fall. Mine couldn’t survive for two seconds in my toilet bowl: and that was only a drop of 16 inches.

JUST days after George Clooney told Miriam O’Callaghan he had to ‘wash his liver’ after his last trip to Ireland, he described his human rights lawyer wife Amal as ‘homely’ to ITV presenter Lorraine Kelly. The ‘compliment’ reminds me of how, as a child, people often described me as looking ‘healthy’ – 1970s code for being slightly overweight and having a big red face. Under the circumstances, when Amal gets wind of his interview, it might be another of his organs that will need a service wash.

HAVING initially shown little interest in its sale, it looks as though the State is close to agreeing a deal to buy the Connor Pass in Kerry and preserving the stunning valley as a national park. Let’s hope they don’t start putting in cycle lanes and charging points along the route. After all, the most awesome aspect of the Connor Pass is the fact that it’s barely passable.
