Tubs to tell all in Irish Mail on Sunday diary

- By Liam De Brún

BROADCASTER Ryan Tubridy has joined our sister newspaper, The Irish Mail on Sunday, where he will be writing a new column from this weekend.

Beginning this Sunday, Mr Tubridy will pen a weekly diary on his new life in London, as well as his varied interests in books, music and film.

Speaking about his new column, the former RTÉ star said: ‘I’m very excited about writing a diary from London for The Irish Mail on Sunday. New city, new show, new beginnings... the possibilities are endless. This weekly column means the reader can join me along the way.’

Paul Henderson, chief executive of DMG Media Ireland, said of the announcement: ‘We are delighted that Ryan will be joining the DMG family this week. Ryan is one of the most outstanding broadcasters Ireland has ever produced.

‘The insights he’ll provide into his new adventures will simply delight our audiences every week.’

The Irish Mail on Sunday is part of the DMG Media portfolio of brands, which reach an audience of over 3.6million people in Ireland every month.

Mr Tubridy left RTÉ last year, after 14 years at the helm of The Late Late Show, as well as his 9am Radio 1 show, with his loyal listeners now following him on Dublin’s Q102 after his move to London at the start of this month. The 50-year-old broadcaster, right, began his new gig presenting a midmorning radio programme from 10am to 1pm on Virgin Radio UK on January 4. While the show is based in Britain, it is broadcast on Dublin’s Q102 at the same time.

Irish listeners can also catch him on Sunday mornings between 10am and 12pm across a number of local radio stations: Dublin’s Q102, Cork’s 96fm, Limerick’s Live 95 and Louth Meath FM (LMFM) – all owned by the same parent company, Wireless Ireland. He said he was pleased to get ‘back to the listeners who supported me since day one’.
