‘Doing all he can to avoid an expensive divorce’
KYLE Walker is said to be ‘doing all he can to avoid a very expensive divorce’ from his wife – who is believed to be expecting his fourth child.
The footballer, 33, posted pictures of himself brandishing his wedding ring on Monday after attending The Best FIFA Football Awards – making a very public statement that he still considers himself a married man.
Despite his efforts, friends of the Manchester City star are convinced his two-year marriage to Annie Kilner, 30, is ‘irreparable’ after she discovered that he has fathered two children with mummy blogger Lauryn Goodman, 32.
And while Walker and Ms Kilner are both thrilled about becoming parents again, friends say they are expecting an ‘expensive divorce’ for the England star.
One friend told the Mail: ‘There is no question that Annie is going to start asserting herself after what Kyle has done to her. She has put up with it all for a long time but now it appears that it is her turn to start calling the shots.
‘It is impossible to see any way back now – the only way forward seems to be a divorce, a very expensive one. You wouldn’t be surprised to see her take him to the cleaners. It’s a mess and it seems this is the only way forward.’
Walker earns £180,000 per week playing for Manchester City. But he also has lucrative deals as the face of brands such as Puma and BoohooMan and has been reported to have a net worth of up to £30million.
MailOnline revealed last week that Ms Kilner is pregnant and, on Sunday, her bump could be seen as she met with her estranged husband in a Cheshire car park to hand over their eldest son Roman, 11. The footballer took Roman to the football awards in London, where Walker was named in the FIFA Men’s World 11 alongside his teammates Erling Haaland, Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne.
He put on a brave face despite moving out of the £2.4million family home in Cheshire. Last week, he publicly apologised to Ms Kilner for his infidelity, writing: ‘Annie is an amazing woman and I can only apologise for the upset I’ve caused her. She’s been part of my life for so long and that will never change for the sake of our children.’
His words came after Ms Kilner announced the split last Wednesday. She wrote on Instagram: ‘Sadly, after many years of marriage and three wonderful children together, I have decided to take some time away from Kyle. I do not wish to comment on the position any further.’
Meanwhile, Ms Goodman told how she spoke to Ms Kilner before going public about Walker fathering her daughter. She told The Sun: ‘I told Annie that I would keep it quiet but now that is impossible after what they have done. In his statement he said “our” children, not all of “my” children. Kyle had a chance here to include all of his children and didn’t.
‘He isn’t thinking about his kids, he’s thinking about himself.’
