Holland v Hollander: How you can spot the difference
HOLLYWOOD heart-throb Tom Holland, born in 1996, arrived in the limelight starring as Billy Elliot in the West End before going on to find worldwide fame in the Spider-Man films.
Those movies have earned over €9billion at the box office and won him 66.2million followers on Instagram.
In contrast, Tom Hollander, 56, does not post to the platform. Though he has won acclaim for roles in TV series – including The Night Manager and The White Lotus – there are just 1,081 followers of an account set up by his fans.
And the two men’s lifestyles could not be further apart.
Holland has just finished renovating a €3.5million house in London. With six bedrooms, the stunning threestorey home is said to have electric gates, a cinema, a sauna and an orangery overlooking the landscaped grounds.
Hollander lives in the same flat above a shop he has owned for the past 20 years, in west London.
Both men have significant partners who tower over them.
At 5ft 7in, Holland is two inches shorter than his girlfriend Zendaya, the 27-year-old American actress and singer he met when they costarred in SpiderMan: Homecoming in 2017.
Hollander is a pint-sized 5ft 5in. His fiancée, interior designer Fran Hickman, is 16 years his junior and, after a long on-off relationship rekindled during lockdown, they had their first child together last August.
Hollander has told how his morning routine includes examining his bald patch in the mirror while Holland caused distress to fans when he shaved his head for the 2021 film Cherry.
To play Spider-Man, Holland gained 15lb of muscle mass in just six weeks.
Hollander, by contrast, once prepared for a TV role as corpulent Welsh poet Dylan Thomas by eating a diet of ‘chips, pizza, deep-fried pork balls and egg fried rice’.
