Posh’s plan to get the band back together for her 50th

-

ONE of their hits says ‘friendship never ends’ and this turns out to be true for Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, who is planning her very own band reunion to mark her 50th birthday.

Posh Spice wants to ring in the big 5-0 with Emma Bunton, Geri Horner, Mel B and Mel C at the Cotswolds retreat which has become the heart of her life. I hear the gathering will take place just after her big day, which is April 17.

Word is that there may also be a super-fancy separate party for her fashion friends and celebrities in London. Well, you’re only 50 once!

As time has gone on, the singerturned-fashion designer has become more positive about her Spice Girls past and the group’s cultural significance, and this year marks the 30th anniversary of their formation.

There have been rumours of a Netflix documentary about the band, which would follow the global success of the Beckham documentary last year. However, as yet there is no deal.

As to the reports that the Spice Girls will re-form to play Glastonbury, or do a tour — again it’s not ruled out, and again, there have been conversations. But there is no deal in place for either.

The band did a series of concerts in 2019, but as a four-piece after Victoria declined to take part. At the time, she insisted it was ‘difficult to say no’ to the reunion. ‘I had so much fun being in the Spice Girls. But now, with everything else that I’ve got going on with my fashion, and my beauty line, four children, I couldn’t commit to that.’

Meanwhile, it can be revealed that Mrs Beckham’s fashion business took out a loan in January from HSBC bank. Documents filed at Britain’s Companies House on January 15 show a ‘charge’ was signed on January 8.

Her fashion company only scraped into the black with a profit of £200,000 (€234,500) after cash injections of around €7million from shareholders in the year to December 2022, including her husband David. It was her company’s first profit following years of losses including a €2.3million one in 2021. Marie Leblanc, the chief executive of Victoria Beckham Holdings, said recently: ‘2022 has been a pivotal year and confirms the healthy growth trajectory of the business.’
