Hugh doing his bit to jack up Irish tourism

CAPITAL idea! Hugh Jackman rounded off a trip to Dublin over the bank holiday weekend with an obligatory pint of Guinness.

The Hollywood star was seen in the city just two weeks after he wrapped up filming on the upcoming Deadpool 3.

Enjoying some downtime from his intense schedule, Jackman, 55, sported a black T-shirt as he shared a video of himself enjoying a pint of the black stuff.

Sharing the video on Monday on his X/Twitter account, which has nearly 15million followers, Jackman repeatedly said to the camera that his beverage was ‘so good’. However, the Australian actor didn’t name the pub in which he was enjoying his pint.

In a separate post, he described Dublin yesterday as ‘one of the most beautiful places in all the land’, adding: ‘Thanks you for the hospitality.’ The post was accompanied by pictures of Jackman and some of neighbouring Co. Wicklow’s most renowned scenery, namely the upper lake in Glendalough and the nearby Glenmacnass waterfall.

During this time in the capital, the Greatest Showman star also took in a play on the Abbey Theatre’s Peacock Stage.

The Dublin theatre wrote online at the weekend: ‘Last night we were privileged to welcome Hugh Jackman to an intimate performance of Luke Casserly’s Distillation, an exploration of the Irish bog landscape through memory and scent. If it’s good enough for Wolverine… thanks for joining us, Hugh.’

Jackman is no stranger to Ireland, having performed three dates in the 3Arena back in 2019 for his global tour, The Man. The Music. The Show.

The actor rocketed to worldwide fame in 2000 when he played Wolverine in the first X-Men film, and has portrayed the character ten times in various projects.

Deadpool 3, which will be released this summer, sees Jackman finally join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starring in the comedy alongside Ryan Reynolds and Morena Baccarin.

Despite initially being known for his action chops, Jackman has a passion for musicals, picking up an Oscar nomination in 2013 for his role in Les Misérables.
