JAGER AND AHERN ARE RECALLED BY IRELAND

-

MUNSTER duo Oli Jager and Tom Ahern have joined the Ireland squad this week ahead of Saturday’s Six Nations clash with Wales.

Prop Jager was added to the squad ahead of the Italy game and was been recalled for the fixture with Warren Gatland’s men, having been released to play in Munster’s URC victory over Scarlets.

Ahern was named as a panelist in the initial Six Nations squad but suffered a head injury during Munster’s Champions Cup defeat to Northampton Saints last month. He returned to action in the Scarlets game.

Iain Henderson sustained a foot injury during Ulster’s loss at Ospreys on Sunday and is a doubt for the Wales game.

Hugo Keenan is also included in the squad but is battling to recover from the knee injury he suffered in the 36-0 win over Italy, and is an outside chance to make Saturday’s Aviva Stadium clash.

Ireland will name their team to play Wales on Thursday afternoon.

Scott Bemand has named a 34player Ireland squad featuring Sevens stars Béibhínn Parsons and Eve Higgins for the Women’s Six Nations campaign which kicks off against France on March 23.
