Sir Terry left an estate of €1m to family

- BY SHERNA NOAH

BROADCASTING legend Sir Terry Wogan left just over €1million to his family in his will. The Radio 2 DJ, who died of cancer last year, aged 77, was thought to be worth around €23million. But his wife and three children got a net estate worth €1,209,476. Sir Terry was reported to be the highest-paid BBC radio presenter in 2006, earning €920,000 a year. He said: “I don’t give a monkey’s about people knowing it. Nor do I feel guilty. If you do the maths, factoring in my eight million listeners, I cost the BBC 2p a fortnight. I think I’m cheap at the price.” In addition to his Radio 2 breakfast show, he was known for his chat shows, Children In Need work and Eurovision commentaries.
