NO STOPPING RISING LAKE

-

THERE’S only one loose end to tie up in Division Four and it should be done tomorrow as WESTMEATH only need to avoid defeat at home to LONDON to join Wexford in Division Three in 2018. Only CARLOW, four points back with two games to play, can reel in Tom Cribbin’s side and they must beat already promoted WEXFORD and hope that London pull off a seismic shock in Mullingar in order to take it into the final week. It’s not going to happen, though. With Seamus Mcenaney set to give fringe members of the panel a run out, it’s not inconceivable that Carlow might get the two points they require, but Westmeath won’t slip up against the Exiles. There’s only pride and Championship fine-tuning at stake in the other fixtures, with home wins for LEITRIM and LIMERICK over WATERFORD and WICKLOW respectively most likely.
