LOUGHALL IRA ADDRESS ‘DISAPPOINTING’

-

ARLENE Foster is “disappointed Michelle O’neill will address a ceremony to remember eight IRA members killed by the SAS. The party’s Stormont leader, left, will address a republican parade and memorial event on Sunday marking 30 years since the ambush in Loughgall in Co Armagh. Speaking as she met Irish language students, the DUP leader said: “When I am trying to make this a shared place for everybody other leaders are doing things that frankly are backward-looking. “I am thinking of what is happening in Loughgall on Sunday and I think that is something that Sinn Fein needs to reflect on.” Sinn Fein considers those who died as martyrs while unionists view them as terrorists. As well as the IRA men a civilian was also shot dead in the ambush.
