Bruno Mars mania is set to hit the country this weekend as the popstar brings his 24K Magic World Tour to Dublin for two sold-out shows. The pop funk master is set to play the biggest hits from his three studio albums at the 3Arena tomorrow night and Sunday night.

Since exploding onto the airwaves in 2010 with his debut album Doo-wops & Hooligans, the 31-year-old Hawaiian has garnered multiple Grammy awards and is a 20 time Grammy nominee.

He’s sold an astonishing 170 million singles and 26 million albums and has just scored his eighth No.1 on Billboard’s Pop Songs airplay chart with That’s What I Like.

The track is taken from Mars’ hit third album 24Kmagic which skyrocketed to No.1 in more than 25 countries.

Mars, real name Peter Hernandez, is best known for his 2014 collaboration with Mark Ronson on the global hit Uptown Funk which features on his second album, Unorthodox.

“We wrote 24K Magic [the title track and lead single] when Uptown Funk was number one,” he said recently.

“So if you hear the same spirit in that song, that’s why. I’d say that it was always in the back of my mind when we were doing it. It was to get me to this record. It’s a bridge.”

The Locked Out Of Heaven hitmaker also slammed a report that he mimed when he performed on the X Factor last October.

He said: “You can say anything you want about me or my music, or make any kind of joke you want, but that to me is like, well, I’m going to get extremely insulted. Because you have no idea how hard we rehearse.

Just seeing that, it blew me away. Like, ‘What are they seeing? What do you mean!?’ Never! I’ve never lip-synced.

“I could have a 150-degree fever and I’ll still be up there, singing live. That’s our profession.”
