Beeb presenter ‘in sex acts with young boys as lover looked on’

Court told of flasher’s mac and stockings

BBC presenters Tony and Julie Wadsworth invited schoolboys to watch as they had sex in the park, a court heard.

Mrs Wadsworth, 60, also known as Julie Mayer, also allegedly had sexual activity with an 11-year-old, sunbathed topless without knickers and invited boys to “come and have a play” while her husband watched. The ex-radio Leicester stars admit using “outdoor hanky-panky” to “spice up their sex life”. But they deny outraging public decency and indecently assaulting seven boys during the 1990s. Miranda Moore QC said the couple “were partial to sexual activities in the outdoors”. She went on: “They did it in the open knowing the young lads were watching.

“The boys were mainly 14 but one was quite a bit younger. “Following observation by the lads, Julie would engage in sexual activity with them. “Julie was doing the activity but Tony was there watching.” Warwick crown court heard that in September 1992 the couple had sex against a tree in a park in full view of boys playing nearby. Ms Moore told the jury: “They invited the boys to watch. “She told them to meet up again the following week and they could join in.” The jury heard Mr Wadsworth, 69, filmed the second meeting. One day Mrs Wadsworth wore a “flasher’s mac, short skirt and white stockings” at Atherstone Golf Course, Warks. Ms Moore asked: “What was Mr Wadsworth doing there? The prosecution say he was there by agreement with his wife to look out and encourage her. She had sexual activity with boys again and again.” The couple, of Broughton Astley, Leics, who have both worked for BBC WM and BBC Radio Leicester, deny a total of 32 charges between 1992 and 1999. The case continues.
