Will Vogue & Spencer make the big Jump?

Wedding bells may ring for pair who met on ski slopes

Vogue Williams might not have been on Spencer Matthew’s arm for his brother James’ wedding to Pippa Middleton but the pair are still going strong. However, could Vogue and Spencer be next to walk down the aisle? We take a look back over the reality TV couple’s romance from the very beginning.

Who is Spencer Matthews?

The 27-year-old first shot to fame in 2011 as one of the original stars of E4’s reality series Made In Chelsea. The show follows young, beautiful and rich people from London’s poshest postcodes and with his affluent background, Spencer was the perfect candidate. His father David, also known as the Laird of Glen Affric, owns several properties including a sprawling country estate in Scotland, a stately manor in Nottinghamshire and a luxury resort on the Caribbean island of St Barts. Spencer was a boarder at Eton College and later studied drama in the UK and US. Before finding fame on the small screen, Spencer worked as a stockbroker but has since appeared in several reality shows including The Bachelor, I’m A Celebrity and The Jump. He is well known for his womanising ways and previously claimed to have bedded more than 1,000 women.

Where did they meet?

Vogue and Spencer met after they both signed up to compete in Channel 4 reality series The Jump earlier this year. While the 31-year- BROTHER James and Pippa wed on Saturday old Dubliner was forced to pull out of the show after injuring herself in rehearsals, Spencer went on to be crowned the winner of the series. However, it is likely that Vogue and Spencer crossed paths on the London social circuit before they ever started dating. Since moving to the city a few years ago, Vogue is good friends with former Made in Chelsea star Ashley James, who appeared on the series while Spencer was in the cast. However, there’s no love lost between the former co-stars after they got in a Twitter spat earlier this year, with Spencer mocking Ashley for tweeting about terrorism.

Vogue and Spencer’s relationship

With all the contestants of The Jump staying in Austria for weeks while practising for the show, Vogue and Spencer soon sparked speculation they were more than friends with several appearances on each other’s social media accounts. But they kept tight-lipped on their relationship status for several weeks until Vogue told the Irish Mirror she was off the market but wouldn’t reveal who

she was dating. Days later, the pair jetted off to Disneyland Paris on a romantic break to help celebrate the theme park’s 25th anniversary where Spencer joked to TV3’S Xpose he and Vogue “had a kid on the way”. Shortly afterwards, Spencer flew to Dublin to support Vogue as she appeared as a panellist on Brendan O’connor’s Cutting Edge. During a Facebook Live video by RTE, Matthews confirmed their romance and said: “If I could shout it from the top of mountains I would.” Vogue and Spencer’s relationship has since been going from strength to strength – despite reports Spencer had been spotted with another woman in London while Vogue was at home in Ireland. Earlier this month, Spencer joined his girlfriend in Marbella while Vogue was Djing at Irish socialite Virginia Macari’s swimwear fashion show. The couple then enjoyed a few days in the Balearic island of Ibiza ahead of Saturday’s wedding. It has also been reported that Spencer flew Vogue up to his family’s estate in the Scottish Highlands for a cosy weekend away. Since going public with the relationship, the pair haven’t been shy when it comes to social media public displays of affection. Spencer and Vogue regularly share couple pictures and snaps of each another on Instagram, with the UK star even comparing his girlfriend to supermodel Cindy Crawford in one loved-up post.

Why Vogue wasn’t invited to the wedding

Due to Pippa Middleton’s No Ring, No Bring Rule, which means guests can only bring a plus one if they are married or engaged, Vogue missed out on an invite. Addressing questions about why she wasn’t joining her other half at the wedding, Vogue said she had other plans but wished the happy couple well. The Howth beauty was instead hosting a talk in Dublin department store Arnotts where she discussed her fitness regime.
