CLARKE KEEPS BRAY AT BAY..

-

Bray 1 Limerick 1 BY PAUL DOWLING BRENDAN CLARKE denied Bray a muchneeded shot in the arm with a stunning second half penalty save. In the week when the FAI launched a probe into alleged match-fixing at the Wicklow club, the second smallest crowd of the season (481) turned up at the Carlisle Grounds last night. Gary Mccabe was felled by Barry Cotter in the 72nd minute and picked himself up to take the penalty. But Clarke dived to his left to push the ball onto the post and wide to deny the midfielder. Against the run of play, the Seagulls had taken a 38th minute lead when full-back Keith Buckley whipped in an inviting cross and Daragh Noone powered a header home. There was an explosive start to the second period. When a Bray corner-kick was cleared, Limerick made it 1-1 with a superb breakaway effort by Chiedozie Ogbene. The 20-year-old beat Karl Moore for pace down the right channel, evaded both Conor Kenna and Tim Clancy, then drilled in low from 15 yards.
