GRAYSON’S LACKING A NET RESULT

- BY SIMON BIRD

SIMON GRAYSON has insisted his Sunderland side are only lacking one element – hitting the back of the net. The Mackems are on a fourgame losing streak in the league, scoring only once. Grayson is “pleased” with how they have been playing, but he admitted: “Against Forest we were probably the most dominant we have been in terms of how we affected the play and kept the ball. “The one thing that was missing was (our ability) to put the ball in the back of the net. “We are all frustrated that we aren’t getting the results but ultimately it is an isolation of four games that we have lost because we were unbeaten in the five before that.” And ahead of the Black Cats trip to Hull today, rival boss Leonid Slutsky is looking for a reaction from his players after two bad results in the past week. He watched his Tigers side go down 2-1 at Fulham in midweek following their 5-0 thrashing from Derby last Friday. Slutsky said: “There are many difficult teams to play against in the Championship, but we need a win against a big team in this league like Sunderland. “We asked the players how many matches the teams that end up at the top of this division can afford to lose in a season. “I think it is about seven or eight. We have lost four so far.”
