11 anti-water protesters facing trial

-

ELEVEN anti-water charge protesters are to go on trial in November. The majority of the accused are based in Waterford city. The charges relate to instances of alleged breaches of the Water Services Act in 2015. The law refers to those alleged to have obstructed or interfered “with the exercise by a water authority or any other prescribed person of power vested in it or him”. Waterford District Court Judge Kevin Staunton set aside two days for the trial – six will appear on November 29 with the rest the following day.
