UNDERDOG ZANKA KEEPING HIS COOL

-

HUDDERSFIELD’S Mathias ‘Zanka’ Jorgensen has the perfect name for an underdog. A £3.5million buy from Copenhagen, the defender impressed as the Terriers began life in the Premier League with three successive clean sheets. They lost to West Ham last time out, but Zanka (above) is not panicking as he prepares to face Leicester today. He got his nickname after squeezing into a gap on the floor of a car to go to a match – mirroring the position of Sanka, a character in the Cool Runnings movie about the Jamaican bobsleigh team. He said: “At Copenhagen I was asked what I wanted on my shirt. I think it has a Z because I was told it looks cooler. You can draw parallels between the underdogs of the bobsleigh team and Huddersfield.”
