KEANE WANTS TO GO ON SWISS ROLL

football club, Servette. Keane, whose side has lost five of their six PRO14 games since he took charge, said he will be treating the first block of Challenge Cup games — they host a struggling Worcester said coached by Donncha O’callaghan (inset) the following weekend — as a chance to get some momentum before they host Munster in their second inter-pro of the season. “Those local derbies, based on the one I have been involved in against Ulster, that was a massive fixture,” said Keane (left). “I expect nothing less from Munster. I had the good fortune of watching Munster and Leinster and these are highly competitive local derbies. “The fanatical excitement that it generates is pretty cool and that was a big vociferous crowd at the Aviva Stadium last weekend. “We will be using any games to prepare for those big games. it’s just the fact that this is the Challenge Cup at the moment.” And with just one win over a lacklustre Southern Kings to his name, the former Waikato Chiefs assistant is determined to ease some pressure and kick off their Challenge Cup campaign with a win. “I have talked about momentum and the need to gather some. “With how things have transpired that would probably be our biggest one, to gain that momentum,” said Keane. “We are finding out about each other. We are just trying to get that momentum, that’s the focus. “It would be nice to get a win. But if we don’t play well we are certainly not going to win. “The pressure still remains it doesn’t matter what competition it is.”
