The Jools in the crown of some wonderful acts

The Breeders, Jools Holland and The Jesus and Mary Chain are all in town this week. Ivory tickler, Jools Holland (inset) hits Dublin’s 3Arena in Dublin tomorrow ngiht with his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra.

For this new tour, Holland will also be joined by Gilson Lavis and guest vocalists Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall.

Tickets are priced from €54.

Meanwhile, over in the Academy British Glam rockers The Darkness play, tickets priced €30.

After reuniting in 2013 to perform their seminal album, The Last Splash, The Breeders are back on the road again and play Vicar Street on Monday night (tickets €35). Kim and Kelley Deal, Josephine Wiggs and Jim Macpherson have teased fans with a new track Wait in the Car which is the reunited lineup’s first studio release since the 1993 LP.

Also on Monday night Swedish singer and songwriter Zara Larsson will play The Olympia Theatre as part of her European tour, tickets €26.40.

The Horrors play The Tivoli Theatre on Tuesday night (tickets €24) while shoegazing legends The Jesus and Mary Chain are set to rock Vicar Street, €40.

After a couple of Sold-out Irish shows last year and headline sets at Sea Sessions alongside a sell-out at The Galway Arts Festival Badly Drawn Boy makes a return to Dublin playing Whelan’s on Wednesday night, tickets €27.50.
