A WOMAN who worked as Harvey Weinstein’s intern on his first film claims he harassed her while he was naked and joked about it afterward.
Paula Wachowiak, now 62, says Weinstein exposed himself in a hotel room while filming 1980 horror The Burning. “When I got in, I realised he was holding a hand towel around his waist,” she said. He then took the folder she was carrying and dropped his towel, leaving him naked in front of her, she added. “He sat on the bed with the folder over his groin and pointed to cheques and asked me why we were paying for this or that,” she told reporters in New York. Lysette Anthony, 54, returned to the Hollyoaks set in Liverpool yesterday – insisting she will continue as normal after telling police Weinstein raped her in her home in the late 80s. A source close to her said: “Bosses told her she could have time off if she needed or was too upset or stressed from speaking out, but Lysette insisted she was going to work as normal. “She isn’t going to let Weinstein ruin any more of her life.” Online trolls accused her of using the Hollywood scandal to aid her career. One wrote: “just after attention and hoping for a few more jobs out of it.” But Lysette replied: “I have a LONG contract on HOLLYOAKS… but don’t let a few facts get in your way.” Another Twitter user commented: “Maybe if you had reported this when it happened, before the media circus, more women could have been saved.” Ms Anthony replied: “Maybe you don’t know what you’re talking about.” Met Police are probing five allegations involving Weinstein, 65, dating back to the late 1980s. All five alleged incidents, including Lysette’s, took place in London. Dozens of actresses, including Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow, have made harassment allegations against the producer in the past 10 days. Weinstein has “unequivocally denied” allegations of non-consensual sex after three actresses said he had raped them.
