TV3 star Lisa Cannon has opened up about piling on the pounds after on a dream holiday to the Maldives with hubby Richard Keatley. The star and producer of Box Office on 3E told of her constant struggle beating the bulge as she jets around the globe interviewing movie stars. The former Xpose presenter also opened up about trying for a baby and has not ruled out fertility treatment. Lisa, 37, is flying the flag for thousands of Weight Watchers’ members as she continues her role as Irish brand ambassador and said she dreads getting up on the scales each week. She told the Irish Mirror: “I was up five pounds after the holiday which is to be expected but I need to rein in my eating now. “I’m a Weight Watchers gold member because I lost a stone and four pounds, and I have to lose a dress size before Christmas. “I have to mind all the things I love the sugary things, the alcohol, my nice big breakfasts but I just need to balance it all out.

REACTION

Getting up on the scale for the weekly weigh-ins is “nerve-wracking” but she enjoys the fact she’s in there with “every shape and size, men, women, youngsters, elders and everybody in between”. Lisa said: “I have to get up there and get weighed in front of everyone. “We are all in a line queuing up, but your weight is told to you discreetly but your reaction when you’re up or down a pound can give it away. “Like everyone else I take my shoes and socks off so it’s a bit nervewracking.” The broadcaster told how she’s battled with her weight from an early age. She said: “I’ve always struggled with my weight, I was always the well-fed kid in the class. “I’ve always enjoyed my food and I’ve never been light or seriously slender, I’ve got curves hopefully in the right places. “But it does tend to stick with me a bit more which I find highly annoying but it’s part of the acceptance of who I am and I just need to deal with it with one eagle eye on it sadly.” The Dublin presenter revealed she is trying to conceive and would be open to fertility treatment if it doesn’t happen naturally. She said: “There’s no baby yet but we’re working on it. “I’ll be blessed if it happens, we’ll be delighted. “I wouldn’t feel in anyway bad about doing fertility treatment, absolutely not, I feel it’s a wonderful thing that it’s open for women and men.” Tune into Box Office tonight on 3E at 11.05pm to watch Lisa chatting to Colin Farrell and Nicole Kidman.
