Ger own job’s most important

Sligo R v Derry C, 7.45

SLIGO boss Gerard Lyttle has told his battling players to focus on their own job and not on other teams. The Bit O’red know they will be safe if they do the business in their remaining games against Derry City and Drogheda United. They face the Candystripes tonight buoyed after a late Regan Donelan equaliser away to Shamrock Rovers last week. Lyttle said yesterday: “We control what we can. What we want is wins in these final two games and in order to do that it will take a massive effort. “Our supporters have been positive and encouraging and this is a chance to get behind us once more and help on us on the way like they do. “Derry will have the shackles off now. They’ve shown they are one of the best teams in the league in qualifying for Europe. We focus on what we can do. I think it will be like the Bohemians game. Everything has to be put on the line and it will require fight to the very end.” Derry have European football secured for next season but Kenny Shiels insists his side will still go all guns blazing at The Showgrounds. He said: “We will fight for every ball and give the best account of ourselves.” Defender Kyle Callan-mcfadden serves a one-game ban for the hosts. Michael Leahy returns after injury but Michael Schlingermann is out with a neck problem. Derry are without Dean Jarvis, who has had a knee injury while Nathan Boyle is out with a groin problem. Ronan Curtis is a doubt with a knock to his knee.
