President is called out on lies again

-

DONALD Trump was asked this week why it had taken him so long to make a public statement or contact the families of four US soldiers killed in Niger. Instead of simply answering the question with dignity saying how he’s doing his best to honour them, the President opted to trash talk his predecessors with yet more lies. There is nothing lower in public office than trying to deflect attention for your own failings by spreading misinformation about others even over something as abhorrent as fallen soldiers. Trump falsely claimed that previous presidents did not call the families of the those who sacrificed their life for their country.

CONTACT

He specifically named President Barack Obama. When asked about contacting the four grieving families Trump said: “The traditional way, if you look at President Obama and other presidents, most of them didn’t make calls, a lot of them didn’t make calls.” It sparked an immediate response. Former Obama advisor Dan Pfeiffer said Trump is “a deeply disturbed ignoramus who is a pathological liar”. While the sister of a slain US soldier called the President a “fat f***ing liar” after she stated President George W Bush listened to her scream before hugging her after she was told her brother had been killed while serving in the Iraq War. A true leader fit for office would have spoken with dignity choosing to pay tribute to those who selflessly gave their lives.
