Murder probe as woman stabbed to death at home
French national, 37, killed & boyfriend seriously injured
GARDAI have launched a murder probe after a young French woman was stabbed to death in an apartment.
The body of the 37-year-old, named locally as Anne Colomines, was found on Tuesday night in an apartment at Dorset Square in Dublin’s north inner city.
The victim, who is understood to have worked in a senior position at Paypal, is believed to have been stabbed multiple times in the savage attack and died at the scene.
Her 35-year-old partner Renato Gehlen was also found in the house with “serious injuries” and brought to the Mater Hospital.
The Brazilian man has since undergone surgery and was reported to be in a serious but stable condition.
A Garda spokesman said: “Gardai in Mountjoy received a call at approximately 11.30pm [on Tuesday] of an incident at Dorset
Square apartments.

“When they arrived they discovered a female [37 years] and male [35 years] with serious injuries.
“Both persons were treated at the scene by Dublin Fire Brigade.
“The male was taken to the Mater Hospital and his injuries are described as serious.
“The female was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The Office of the State Pathologist has also been notified.”
A knife believed to have been used in the killing was discovered at the scene.
Gardai are not thought to be looking for anyone else in relation to the incident at present.
Officers will speak to the injured man once he is deemed fit enough to be interviewed.
A spokesman said they are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
