Louis: Simon fell off his high heels..

X Factor judge’s fall joke

- BY EDEL HUGHES, HAYLEY MINN and ROSE HILL

LOUIS Walsh joked yesterday about Simon Cowell’s horror fall that put him in hospital.

And he also appeared to have a dig at Cheryl in a cheeky appearance on TV’S Loose Women.

Simon was absent from The X Factor at the weekend as he had to undergo an emergency brain scan after being found unconscious at the bottom of his staircase by his security team.

The 58-year-old music mogul had fainted due to low blood pressure and fell down several steps.

During the first live shows Alesha Dixon replaced him – leaving viewers baffled as to why Cheryl hadn’t stepped in despite having previously been a judge herself.

Speaking on the

ITV show, Louis reported Simon was fine and “just needed to slow down”.

The 65-year-old joked: “I think he fell off his high heels,” before insisting, “Of course he’ll be back”.

He then went on to praise Alesha who stepped in with just five hours’ notice.

Louis said: “She’s amazing, she’s so nice.” However, when the panel queried why she had replaced him rather than Cheryl, he added: “Alesha has done more auditions,” before cheekily adding: “And she’s a team player.”

Former judge Cheryl delighted fans when she returned to the show to help Cowell pick his acts at judges’ houses.

And she was also in the audience on Saturday to support boyfriend Liam Payne as he performed his latest single Bedroom Floor. Puzzled viewers took to social media asking why the Girls Aloud star had not replaced Simon for the night.

One said: “Cheryl is literally sat in the audience right behind the judges... why doesn’t she just fill in for Simon?”

Another added: “I can’t be the only one Cheryl wondering why

Cheryl’s in the audience but they didn’t get her to stand in for Simon.”

During a chat with Dermot O’leary on Saturday’s show, Cheryl said: “First of all I really miss you Simon, I know you’ll be watching at home. You’re very, very missed and we love you.” Louis Walsh Cowell
