Scouts jam Celtic Park for Tierney

-

colleague Dembele are Brendan Rodgers’ hottest young properties and a host of talent-spotters are scheduled to flood to Glasgow’s East End for the showpiece European clash against the German giants.

Representatives from as many as 17 outfits including English Premier League Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal are planning to head to Parkhead to run the rule over the talented duo as they tackle the cream of the continent.

Spurs also sent a scout to the Allianz Arena 13 days ago to watch Tierney and will return, but their hopes of landing the left-back in the near future have been crushed by Celtic’s fresh agreement.

The defensive superkid has signed a deal which runs until 2023 and insists his heart is in the Hoops.

Tierney, who is already close to playing 100 top-team games and is a Scotland regular, said: “I still can’t believe it. It’s amazing.

“It’s a lot to take in right now, but I’m delighted.

“The players I’m playing with and the manager I’m under all helps. I can’t do this on my own.

“It’s a team effort and I’ve a lot to thank them for, especially the captain [Scott Brown].

“The manager has trusted me since day one. I was very young when he came in and I’d only played one season in the first team.

“There’s always a doubt he might bring in someone more experienced, but he’s trusted me and I’ve a lot to thank him for.

“To captain Celtic is probably the greatest honour I’ve ever had.”
